Faded Flags 04:00
Faded Flags So many times I’ve asked, “Who am I supposed to be? Too scared to ever dream, in case someone takes it away from me. Said “I’m not living a life, I’m just hesitating?” And oh my love, we can be so much happier than this. So many times I’ve asked, “why are you the one I love?” So many faded flags of all the dreams of girls I will never know. Maybe I bring it on myself? And oh my love, we can be so much happier than this. Bury me in dirty sheets and upturned memories, Bury me beside my dreams and all that I’ve achieved. Take me to the river and let my body leave, And if I see the pearly gates, I’ll know I’ve been deceived. And oh my love, we can be so much happier than this. Love, don’t be so mean, if I’m stronger than I was, it don’t mean a damn thing.

Better Weather Tied to the power-lines with your friends, bound by blood and good intentions, you’re in the seams of all my years, but then again, too few to mention. And I have come to know that it all just settles down, that in all my years of leaving I’ve learned nothing and some days I feel so underwhelmed, but I have come to know that it all just settles down in the end. For a while now, I’ve wanted to join my brother on the sea, place my faith in demons I don’t need, but I realise I’m scared, I’m underprepared and fucking up. And I have come to know that it all just settles down, that in all my years of leaving I’ve learned nothing and some days I feel so underneath it all, but I have come to know that it all just settles down in the end. So burn the bridges that brought us here, they could never teach us anything at all.

A Little More Than Nothing Else And in every finite meeting there’s a spark, a point where this could be it, a “bottled promise”, but I get so caught up in my loneliness I forget to overcome my nerves. Right or wrong, I’m rolling home the same, I’ve had enough of these unexpected days, “you’d be a fool to find me beautiful” I’d say, “but I need you now, a little more than nothing else”. I don’t care what dead men did to other dead men in a world that I don’t belong too, I just care about you. And what was it that you were looking for? Someone that you don’t know in some town you’ve never been too? Oh you’ve been a fool.
4.
Skin and Bones When I’m ninety-five years old, will you sing to me the same way? And when I’ve failed on all my goals will you believe in me the same way? She says “you’re tragically flawed, but you’ve got a good heart” and my mind’s been in the gutter since this morning. And I know that it don’t come easy, you’ve got to fight for the things that you love And I know that it’s hard to believe, when the waiting’s got the best of me. And if I could be comfortable with the here and now, I’d be fine, but if I could learn to count on all my demons and my blessings, I’d be set to fall. And if all I am is skin and bones, there’s nothing left to guide me home.

Somewhere, Another Life is Waiting Tell nobody not to worry, I've got good luck coming through, and don't tell anyone about the girl I gave to you. Build a levee to the stars, try to keep good love away, for I'm sure I will be rolling home again someday. We know you can't get there from here, but all the winter we've been trying. I've got a good heart, I'm just not sure how to use it, and these days we're only talking through tin cans and twine. And we know that you can't get there from here, but all the winter we've been trying.

First of Everything You are millimetres and miles away, I don’t want the wind to take you anywhere you are the only marrow left inside of these old bones you are the dust in these walls, the first of everything. I’ve been drowning in these rooms, a thousand lessons learned too late But I’m a little bit too cold to be redeemed

Untitled 02:33
UNTITLED Since I was born, well I’ve believed, I’m going to find someone who’s going to marry me. And if at first I don’t succeed, I’m going to dust myself down and mend my skinned knees. For I’ve been reckless, and I’ve been wild, I’ve chased love upside down and half way round the world, and all my letters, from citites by the sea, don’t mean nothing 'till you’re here with me. And all my friends, well they’re just like me, we’re all trying to hold on “introspectively” So dust off my heart, or leave me alone, am I leaving you here or are you taking me home? And all my useless “love me?” songs, I’ve sung them upside down and half way round the world And all you letters, in cities by the sea Don’t mean nothing 'till you’re here with me at home. Since I was born, well I’ve believed, I’m going to find someone who’s going to marry me.
